The American Legion Posts of Meeker County will host the Annual Boy's and Girl's Meeker County Program in Litchfield on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. It is for HS students 8-9 or 10th grade and about how County government functions.
This program is an AM. Legion program designed to be an educational experience for students whose curriculum includes studying county government. All Meeker County Schools are invited to participate. In prior Boys and Girls County ACGC, Eden Valley/ Watkins and Litchfield schools have participated. The thirty-two students planned to attend will spend part of the day at the Meeker County Government Center , GAR Historical Hall, Law Enforcement Center (Jail Tour) & Government Justice Center. They will receive presentations from Department Heads & representatives observing and touring county facilities. Each school’s student body will elect or select representatives to the participating county offices.
A luncheon will be served at noon with County Commissioners at Litchfield American Legion Post #104 .with the five elected County Commissioners in attendance. A mock trail will also be held at the Justice Center.
